Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 10-20 knots Surf / Sea State: 1-2 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 12ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 27.4 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 26.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
After a couple of aborted attempts and some sitting around on the beach
waiting for wind I was just about to give up when I noticed some white-caps
coming our way so decided to have one last go. It was still a little
marginal to start with but I got on the plane and was managing to hold my
ground upwind. Over the next couple of hours the wind just gradually
increased the whole time with the sun shining. Steve and I had some
beautiful long runs right next to each other all the way across to
Graveyards and back. Just perfect, well powered up skimming over the blue
waters at speed with the sun shining.
The Sputnik is certainly a challenging board to sail and it really feels
every little bit of chop, but on the flat bits it is pretty quick. It jumps
quite well too with one notable pretty big jump with Steve right behind
me.
More of the same tomorrow please.
